Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Daimler AG (Daimler) on the acquisition of British electric motor specialist YASA Ltd. (YASA).
YASA is a manufacturer of axial flux electric motors with headquarters and production facilities in Oxford, England, and an innovation division in Welshpool, Wales. The 250 employees will continue to operate from both locations in the future.
With this acquisition, Daimler and its subsidiaries Mercedes-Benz AG and Mercedes-AMG GmbH gain access to unique technology in the field of axial flux electric motors and expertise for the development of ultra-high performance axial flux electric motors. Daimler is thus further advancing its strategy to accelerate the transformation to a zero-emission and software-driven future.
