Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s., Komerční banka, a.s., Československá obchodní banka, a. s. and Česká spořitelna, a.s. on the restructuring process of Smartwings a.s.

The group of banks provided Smartwings with a loan under the Czech government's Covid Plus programme, which was introduced to mitigate the adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Smartwings is one of the largest airlines in Central & Eastern Europe, it also operating in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland, Hungary and Germany. In addition to scheduled and charter flights, it provides special flights for international companies and global, humanitarian and sports organizations.
The White & Case team that advised on the transaction was led by partner Jan Linda and included associates Petr Šmerkl, Ondřej Bartoň and Klára Kolomazníková. Lawyers from the White & Case offices in Warsaw and Bratislava also advised on the transaction.
