White & Case Advises Atlas Renewable Energy on “Shangri La” Electric Power Project in Colombia

White & Case has advised Atlas Renewable Energy, a leading international renewable power company, on the development and financing of its first project in Colombia. The project, known as "Shangri La," is located in the Department of Tolima in Colombia and will generate approximately 403.7 GWh of electric power per year.

The project entered into a long-term power purchase agreement with a leading power generation company in Colombia. The financing package comprised a long-term senior debt financing provided by IDB Invest and Bancolombia pursuant to their respective loan facility agreements.

The White & Case team was led by Project Development and Finance partners Thomas Pate and Raffaele Turco and included Project Development and Finance associates Helena Buitrago and Mariana Ferez (all in New York) and Chris Bergan (Mexico City).
