Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Antin Infrastructure Partners (Antin) on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Italian pharmacy group Hippocrates Holding (Hippocrates).
Through the investment, Antin will become a long-term strategic partner of Hippocrates and help the group expand its existing network, taking advantage of the substantial growth opportunities in the proximity healthcare sector. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021 and Hippocrates founders and co-CEOs Davide Tavaniello and Rodolfo Guarino will retain a stake in the company following the investment.
Antin is a leading independent private equity firm focused on infrastructure investments. Based in Paris, London and New York, and fully owned by its 14 partners, the firm employs over 100 professionals. Antin targets majority stakes in infrastructure businesses in the energy and environment, telecom, transport and social infrastructure sectors.
Hippocrates launched in early 2018 and currently encompasses a network of more than 120 pharmacies mainly located in central and northern Italy.
