Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Capital Markets Practice, and both its Global Financial Institutions Industry Group and Global Private Equity Industry Group, with the addition of partners Oliver Seiler and David Rath in Germany, where they will be based in Frankfurt.

"White & Case is one of the very few firms in Germany able to advise clients on finance deals governed by New York, English and German law," said White & Case partner John Vetterli, head of the Firm's Global Capital Markets Practice. "It is a true point of difference for our highly successful corporate finance team in Germany, and the addition of Oliver and David strengthens our position as the market's 'one-stop-shop' for clients in all aspects of bank/bond and equity finance across banking and capital markets."

Oliver Seiler and David Rath have advised issuers, investment banks and corporates on many of the German market's most significant initial public offerings, spin-offs and other equity capital markets deals in recent years. Oliver is widely recognised as one of Germany's preeminent capital markets lawyers and has more than 25 years of experience. David brings more than ten years of experience and is one of the market's emerging capital markets leaders. Both lawyers are highly ranked across the spectrum of significant legal publications, including Chambers, JUVE and Legal 500, and join White & Case from Latham & Watkins, where they were partners.

"White & Case is an established corporate finance powerhouse in Germany and the arrival of Oliver and David – lawyers with strong market reputations whose experience, skills and successful deal track records are a great fit with our existing practice – is an exciting development for our Firm in Germany and across EMEA more broadly," said White & Case partner Karsten Wöckener, Head of Germany. "They also represent a further significant strengthening of our capabilities in Germany, following the recent lateral additions of white collar partner Sophia Habbe from Noerr and competition partner Ingo Brinker from Gleiss Lutz Hootz Hirsch."

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Oliver and David are highly strategic additions who clearly play to the strengths of our global Firm, adding materially to our leading corporate finance team in Germany which routinely advises significant international clients on market leading deals. Their arrival also continues the growth of our highly successful EMEA capital markets team, which has more than 40 partners and expanded earlier this year through the lateral addition in London of high yield partner Anthony Tama from Cahill Gordon & Reindel."
