Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice and Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of partners Katie Hicks and Tim Sheddick in London.
"Katie and Tim are two of the most outstanding infrastructure lawyers in the UK," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. "Their addition will position White & Case as one of the preeminent European infrastructure M&A/finance practices. Infrastructure is one of the key pillars of our global strategy."
White & Case partner Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Head of the Global Project Development and Finance Practice, said: "The brownfield infrastructure sector is an increasingly active market and the addition of two partners highly experienced in this area of work will be of great value to our sponsor and lender clients. Tim is one of the leading M&A lawyers in the UK in the brownfield infrastructure sector, acting primarily for sponsors. Katie is one of the leading infrastructure finance lawyers with a great network and market profile. Their arrival will make us the firm of choice for clients investing in brownfield infrastructure assets."
Hicks advises both financial sponsors and lenders on infrastructure acquisition financings and refinancings, particularly in the brownfield infrastructure sector. She has extensive experience in bank lending, European institutional funding, US private placements and structured financing platforms across a broad spectrum of infrastructure assets. Sheddick advises clients across Europe on public and private M&A transactions, acting primarily for financial sponsors, and has significant experience advising in the brownfield infrastructure sector. His clients include infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds investing in infrastructure assets in all sub-sectors and asset classes across Europe. Hicks and Sheddick join White & Case from Shearman & Sterling, where they were both partners.
White & Case partner Caroline Sherrell said: "The addition of Katie and Tim represents a further expansion of our capabilities and demonstrates our continued commitment to building the pre-eminent European infrastructure M&A and finance practice."
Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "The arrival of Katie and Tim builds on the recent additions in London of partners Sandra Rafferty and Simon Caridia who, working closely with partner Caroline Sherrell, have built a market leading infrastructure M&A and finance practice."
