Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Debt Finance Practice, Financial Services Regulatory Practice and Global Financial Institutions Industry Group with the addition of Jiang Liu as a partner in New York.
"The regulatory environment for global financial institutions operating in the United States is rapidly changing, and is expected to remain dynamic going forward," said Eliza McDougall, Head of White & Case's Global Debt Finance Practice. "Jiang brings exceptional experience in advising on complex international bank regulatory issues, particularly across Asia-Pacific. His addition will play an integral role in enhancing our ability to deliver first-rate service to our leading financial institution clients across the globe."
Liu has extensive experience advising leading global financial institutions and multinational corporations based in Asia-Pacific on a broad range of US bank regulatory matters. His experience spans the Bank Holding Company Act, the Volcker Rule, data privacy, broker-dealer activities, CFIUS regulations, state money transmission services regulations, supervisory and enforcement matters, US bank and non-bank acquisitions, and the establishment of bank branches and representative offices in the US.
"The addition of Jiang is a well-timed expansion of our already deep bench of talented financial services regulatory practitioners across the globe," said Eric Leicht, a member of White & Case's Executive Committee. "His arrival builds on our US offering in the bank regulatory space and fits neatly into our global practice aimed at servicing leading market participants in complex, cross-border compliance matters."
White & Case's Financial Services Regulatory Practice provides comprehensive advice to the world's leading financial institutions on the full spectrum of domestic and cross-border bank regulatory initiatives, and includes leading partners Jonathan Rogers in London, Henning Berger in Frankfurt and Pratin Vallabhaneni in New York, among others.
