Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Sustainability & Responsible Business Practice with the addition of Erasmus Hoffmann as a partner in Germany to be based in Berlin.

"Our excellent German regulatory team works closely with colleagues in Germany on Germany-related issues as well as across Europe, particularly in Brussels, on European Union-related matters," said White & Case partner Karsten Wöckener, Head of Germany. "To further support our growing mergers and acquisitions and private equity practices in Germany and Europe, the team needs additional bench strength and experience. Erasmus' transactional focus and expertise in environmental, social and governance issues and foreign direct investment make him the perfect fit to strengthen our Germany and Europe-wide regulatory offering."

Erasmus is a specialist regulatory lawyer with particular expertise advising on environmental, social and governance issues, foreign direct investment, data protection and cyber security as well as healthcare regulations and product compliance. His practice covers advisory and transactional work with a focus on matters involving regulated industries, such as critical technologies and infrastructure and the automotive and pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors. Erasmus joins White & Case from Hengeler Mueller, where he was counsel.

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "As we strategically grow our mergers and acquisitions and private equity practices globally, we continue to look at the specialist expertise needed to support our clients on their complex, cross-border transactions. The addition of Erasmus will strengthen our regulatory footprint in EMEA and further improve our transactional and advisory capabilities in a number of industries that are important to our clients, particularly the technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare and consumer and retail sectors. Erasmus' arrival in Germany also follows the addition in April of competition partner Ingo Brinker and white collar partner Sophia Habbe."
