Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice with the addition of Dinmukhamed (Din) Eshanov as a partner, who will be seconded to our associated office in Riyadh.

"White & Case is the preeminent global law firm for project development and finance transactions and is uniquely placed to provide clients with on-the-ground local and international law advice and in-depth knowledge and insight of local markets," said White & Case partner Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Head of the Global Project Development and Finance Practice. "In Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East we have a strong focus on government and government-related projects, and the addition of Din in Riyadh will provide further expertise and capabilities to support clients that are financing, developing and managing these projects."

Eshanov advises on various project development and construction agreements, including engineering and procurement agreements, power purchase agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, build, own, operate and transfer agreements and FIDIC-based agreements across a range of industries, including the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. He also advises on corporate, finance and commercial transactions, including cross-border mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity. Eshanov joins from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.

"Din is a talented lawyer with truly significant transactional experience in Saudi Arabia and around the Middle East, and strong relationships with key decision makers in the region," said White & Case partner Caroline Miller Smith, Regional Section Head, EMEA Energy, Infrastructure, Projects & Asset Finance. "Din’s focus on the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors makes him the perfect fit for our EMEA practice."

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "The Middle East is an important market for the Firm, as demonstrated by the recent promotions to partner of two lawyers in our Cairo office and four local partner and counsel promotions across our Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. The Riyadh office, where we practice in cooperation with the Law Office of Megren M. Al-Shaalan, is an integral part of our presence and capabilities in the region and it has gone from strength to strength since Megren joined us as a partner in 2019, playing a key role in a number of high profile and complex Saudi and cross-border transactions and attracting recognition across our core practices there. Din’s arrival and his experience and client base will further enhance our practice in the Kingdom."
