White & Case Antitrust partner, Eric Grannon, spoke to The Economist about the big topics that will dominate the competition landscape next year, following the change of guard in US antitrust authorities.
"One of the biggest topics in antitrust next year," Grannon says, "will be a potential tie-up between the FTC and DOJ."
A bill was introduced in Congress earlier this year to consolidate antitrust enforcement into the US Department of Justice, as their overlapping jurisdictions makes them targets for Elon Musk's new government efficiency drive. "The deal police may soon go through a merger of their own," the piece notes.
