
In the Daily Business Review, White & Case Commercial Litigation partner Raoul Cantero and associate Natasha Chen wrote about the Florida Supreme Court's recently adopted comprehensive changes to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
The authors focus on the concept of proportionality, which is familiar to federal courts but new to Florida civil discovery.
"Florida's new proportionality rule requires more work from lawyers up front to ensure that discovery facilitates resolution of the claims and defenses at issue. Lawyers who master proportionality principles can manage litigation costs with streamlined discovery," they said.
