How I Made Partner: 'You Can't Just Have Any One Thing Going for You,' Says Erin Rosenberg of White & Case

In an interview with Law.com, White & Case partner Erin Rosenberg discusses her path to partnership at the Firm, and provides advice to associates wanting to move up the ranks.
Rosenberg says that she believes that her resilience was a key factor in the Firm's decision to make her partner. "To get promoted at White & Case, and in my group in particular, you can't just have any one thing going for you, no matter how impressive," she says. "You have to prove yourself to consistently outperform on all of your matters. You need to jibe with your colleagues—across roles and levels—as well as with clients, other members of the bar, and the bench. You need to not just make connections but gain loyalty. And most importantly, you need to do all this and more unwaveringly."
To associates looking to make partner in the future, Rosenberg offers: "Don't spend too much time or energy worrying about how exactly to get there. Just focus on doing good work, doing right by others, and taking care of yourself."
