In a profile with Law360, David Bond commented on his career and biggest accomplishments over the past year, which earned him a spot as a Law360 MVP in International Trade.
On his decision to become a trade lawyer, Bond said it was the perfect marriage between his interests in law and international trade economics. He joked, "I actually am about the only person I know of who went to law school to be a trade attorney."
Bond also spoke about his work shepherding Eural Gnutti SpA and the Mexican company Aluminio Texcoco SA de CV, or ALUTEX, through dumping and subsidies investigations of their aluminum extrusions. He said, "It's a real challenge to educate companies on what the Department of Commerce requires because it's so beyond what they typically are required to do for commercial purposes."
He also said he was particularly proud of this work as he watched the next generation of attorneys that worked on the case.
"Senior associates, people coming along behind me, are playing a large role in those successes, and that makes me proud, because I’ve trained those people up, and they're the future of our trade group," Bond said.
