
Brent Wible interview with GIR: “Lots of opportunities” for white collar defense work

In an interview with Global Investigations Review, White & Case White Collar partner Brent Wible commented on the US Department of Justice's corporate enforcement priorities under the Trump administration.
While the administration announced a review of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement policy and a six-month pause in initiating new FCPA investigations and enforcement actions, Wible said he expects the Trump administration to either continue or ramp up enforcement against companies for other types of offenses, including inadequate anti-money laundering programs, healthcare and government procurement fraud, and offenses arising from the designation of drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
Wible also commented on his involvement in launching the DOJ's whistleblower program, which has already fielded some "very promising tips."
"I'm hopeful that it will be a program that really stands the test of time and produces some very positive results," Wible said.
