IJGlobal, an infrastructure and energy news and data service, named global law firm White & Case LLP "Legal Adviser of the Year" at its 2023 MENA awards ceremony held in Dubai on April 24.
In its editorial, IJGlobal wrote: "The independent panel of judges chose White & Case to win the MENA legal advisory award for – as one put it – having 'played a significant role in 2023, working on most of the landmark transactions to have closed.' The judges were won over by 'sectoral and geographic diversity' and having worked on 'large and complex transactions' as well as 'innovative transactions such as hydrogen.'"
Six matters on which White & Case advised were also named MENA "Deals of the Year" for 2023:
- Desalination Deal of the Year: Mirfa 2
- Energy Transition Deal of the Year: Neom Green Hydrogen Plant
- Oil & Gas Deal of the Year: Ras Laffan Petrochemical Project
- Mining Deal of the Year: Centamin Sustainability-Linked Credit Facility
- Refinance Deal of the Year: DP World – Jebel Ali Bond
- Transport Deal of the Year: DP World – South Container Terminal, Jeddah Port
These awards follow the Firm's recognition by IJGlobal as "Global Legal Adviser of the Year," "Legal Adviser of the Year, Africa" and "Legal Adviser of the Year, APAC" earlier this year.
