Mergermarket has awarded global law firm White & Case LLP the title of M&A Legal Advisor of the Year for 2020 amongst business law firms in Sweden.
The Europe M&A Awards recognize financial and legal advisers' excellence in M&A deals in Europe, and are based on Mergermarket league tables and input from an independent judging panel.

Among the 49 transactions in Sweden so far this year, White & Case has advised Klarna, the leading global payments and shopping service, on its recent landmark US$650 million fundraising at a post money valuation of US$10.65 billion, making Klarna the highest-valued private fintech in Europe and the 4th highest worldwide.
White & Case also advised Oatly, the leading and fast growing plant-based drinks, yoghurt and ice cream producer, and its shareholders on the US$200 million equity investment by a group of investors led by Blackstone Growth, which also included Oprah Winfrey, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, and Jay-Z founded entertainment company Roc Nation.
Another example of a high profile transaction is EQT's recent acquisition of 29.6% of the shares in Beijer Ref, a world-leading wholesaler of cooling technology and air conditioning and listed at Nasdaq Stockholm, Large Cap segment. The transaction, at a deal value of ca. US$1.1 billion and making EQT the largest shareholder in Beijer Ref, required advice across a number of practice areas and geographical markets.
