Matthias is the Global Director of Partner Development at White & Case, responsible for professional and leadership development of White & Case's partners globally. He works closely with the firm's leaders and their teams in supporting, coaching and advising them on business-, team-, and client-leadership issues. He oversees all partner training, coaching, and developmental assessments, and regularly conducts trainings on a variety of leadership topics to the firm's leadership and clients, as well as facilitates strategic offsites and workshops.
Previously he was the Global Head of Coaching and Advisory at Goldman Sachs' Partner Development Group, the Global Director of Learning at the Ralph Lauren Corporation and an Associate at McKinsey & Company. Matthias also served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia Business School and the NYU Wagner School for over a decade and still teaches in Columbia Business School's Executive Education programs on mindfulness and emotional intelligence. He has given invited talks to a wide range of academic institutions such as Columbia Medical School, Cornell University, The New York Academy of Medicine, The New York Academy of Sciences, and the Wharton Business School and has provided training and coaching to organizations such as Amazon, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Google, McKinsey & Co, SoftBank and the United Nations.
Matthias is a renown expert on the topic of mindfulness and leadership and has published in journals such as the Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, Mindful Magazine, and Tricycle. He is also a Zen teacher at New York's Still Mind Zendo.
