Overview

Carla is an Associate in White & Case's global commercial litigation practice, based in Sydney, Australia. Carla has a generalist practice, with an interest in regulatory advice and investigations and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining White & Case, Carla was a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young in the financial services division, with experience in financial services laws and regulations, compliance and audit. 

As a graduate lawyer, Carla rotated in mergers and acquisitions, debt finance and arbitration in the Sydney and Singapore White & Case offices.

Experience

Litigation, corporate and regulatory experience:

Acting for a foreign state in resisting the enforcement of arbitral awards in the Federal Court of Australia.

Acting for joint venture parties in Queensland court proceedings concerning contractual disputes arising from an LNG project.    

Advised on the application of Australian sanctions and anti-money laundering laws to digital assets.

Advised on an Australian Securities and Investment Commission regulatory investigation.

Advised Petroliam Nasional Berhad on its approx. US$590 million acquisition of a 29.4 percent interest in the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan from Northland Power, a Canadian-listed renewable power producer.
