Overview
Francisco X. Jijón is a partner in the Litigation and International Arbitration Practice Groups with the global law firm of White & Case. Mr. Jijón specializes in international arbitration in Latin America and advising clients in resolving complex dispute in the Andean region.
For more than a decade, Francisco has advised clients in relation to the negotiation, litigation and resolution of complex disputes involving various sectors, including mining, infrastructure, energy, cultural heritage, insurance, sovereign debt, environment, construction, among others. He has experience in cases before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and under the UNCITRAL rules, as well as in commercial arbitration and litigation in various international and legal arbitration forums as well as litigations in U.S. courts.

Success in the first international arbitration under the US-Peru FTA in a dispute relating to mining sector in Peru.
Success in ICSID arbitration under the Argentina-Peru BIT in a dispute relating to toll road concession in Peru.

Success in U.S. litigation to recover priceless Machu Picchu artefacts taken by Yale University from Peru.
Success in multiple proceedings involving Peruvian sovereign debt and payment of historical bonds issued by Peru.
Success in ICSID arbitration under the Spain-Peru BIT in a dispute relating to prison concession in Peru.
Successful resolution of ICSID arbitration under the UK-Peru BIT in a dispute relating to a port concession in Peru.
Successful resolution of first ICSID case by a Latin American State against an investor in energy sector in Peru.
