Biography
Overview
Claire is an Associate in the Firm's Global Intellectual Property (IP) practice, based in London. She advises on IP and IT aspects of M&A transactions and fundraising. Clients are UK-based and international with most deals being cross-border. Her practice also includes drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
Before joining White & Case, Claire gained experience in a top-tier, international Australian law firm's competition and regulatory group. Prior, Claire worked in a national Australian firm's intellectual property, regulatory and technology team.
Claire's experience covers both transactional, commercial work as well as IP and commercial disputes and litigation. This lends her a robust and well-rounded approach to commercial and transactional matters.

DNEG, VFX fundraising 2024
Acted for DNEG, winner of 7 Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects (Inception, Dune, Intersetellar, Ex Machina, etc.), on an investment by United Al Saqer Group at a c. $2 billion valuation. DNEG leverages AI and recently developed its new 'Brahma' CGI technology business.
Summit Partners, investment by EQT in CluePoints, 2024
Advised on the sale of CluePoints to EQT. A clinical trials data analytics software business. This included strategic pre-sale IP rights purchase and licensing.
Antin, purchase of Portakabin, 2024
Acted for Antin on its c. £1.5 billion (reported) purchase of Portakabin, a UK and EU market leader in modular building infrastructure.
Schneider Electric, sale of worldwide sensors business, 2021-2023
Acted for SE on the carve-out and sale for around $1 billion to a strategic Taiwan-based buyer of its Telemecanique Sensors worldwide business. Lead carve-out workstreams on Commercial Contracts and IT.
Primo Water, sale of European business to Culligan, 2023
Advised on c. $5.8 million carve-out and sale of Primo's European business excluding the UK, Portugal and Israel. Directly dealt with and negotiated TSA services and managed the carve-out of procurement contracts.
Forvia, sale of Faurecia to Cummins Inc., 2023
Advised on c. €200 million sale of commercial vehicle manufacturing plants in Indiana, USA and the Netherlands. This included drafting related supply agreements.
Carlyle, acquisition of Meopta, 2023
Advised Carlyle on a successful acquisition of Meopta for around €700 million (reported figure). Meopta is an optical solutions manufacturer with medical, industrial, sport and defence applications and optics, headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic with US operations. This transaction included directly advising on a complex development and licensing agreement.
Carlyle, debt financing to Infront Group, 2023
Advised on Carlyle's debt financing of €400 million for sports media group, Infront headquartered in Zug, Switzerland. Scope included key licences-in and licences-out of media recording and commercialising rights.
Carlyle, Series B investment in Hack the Box, 2023
Advised Carlyle as lead investor in $55 million Series B round in Hack the Bock, a cybersecurity skills and education platform business.
Providence Equity Partners, acquisition of d&b Group, 2023
Advised on acquisition of leading B2B provider of premium audio and lighting solutions and equipment manufacturing.
SoftBank, Series E investment in Tractable AI, 2023
Advised SoftBank as lead investor in Series E $65 million investment into Tractable AI, an insurance claims and assessment technology company.
Nordic Capital, acquisition of CARE Fertility, 2022
Advised Nordic on its acquisition of CARE Fertility in partnership with CARE's management.
Gopher Investments, acquisition, 2021
Advised Gopher Investments on the successful acquisition of financial services unit, Finalto, from Playtech Plc (LSC:PTEC, FTSE250) for US$250 million.
Global food delivery app and platform, acquisition, 2021
Advised a specialist Chinese based food delivery app and platform company on acquisition of a market competitor with a strong Australian presence. This transition included a Transitional Services Agreement and assignment of international IP assets.
